Professional  coaching  creates  clarity  and  moves  clients  into  action.
How can we, as agile coaches, learn from and leverage

Our aim is to create special events, specifically targetted to deepen the skills of Agile coaches:

The date of our first event has been deferred, look for news on Autumn 2008 dates soon.
It will be an opportunity to dramatically deepen your coaching skills in a retreat-like setting, with:
  • the award-winning professional coach training from The Coaches Training Institute as your course of study, customized to reflect situations familiar to Agile Leaders;

  • in August, our location would have been the fabulous Kingbridge Centre retreat and spa, set on 114 acres by the Humber River in the countryside near Toronto, providing the ideal setting for restoration and recreation. (Who knows where we'll run the next one? We're open to suggestions!)

  • your most inspired & growth-hungry Agile colleagues as your community of learning and reflection.
Professional coaching helps people produce extraordinary results in their lives, careers, businesses or organizations. It accelerates a client's progress by deepening their learning and providing greater focus, to improve their performance and enhance their quality of life.

This first customized course, led by corporate coaching leaders from the Coaches Training Institute, is envisioned as one in a series of advanced classes for agile coaches, including future courses in Relationship Systems coaching, facilitation and technical skills.
For twenty years, organizations like The Coaches Training Institue and Newfield Network have been developing professional coaches. Calling themselves "Executive Coaches", "Life Coaches",  or "Organizational Coaches,"  they adhere to a strict code of ethics and specific standards of professional competency. This discipline offers a wealth of tried-and-true tools for working with individuals and groups - just the kind of tools we need!

Professional coaches
honor the client as the expert in his or her own life and work, and hold that clients are naturally creative, resourceful, and whole.  Specifically, coaches:

    •    Discover, clarify, & align with what the client wants to achieve,
    •    Encourage client self-discovery
    •    Elicit client-generated solutions and strategies
    •    Hold the client responsible and accountable.

Sounds pretty consistent with an agile philosophy, doesn’t it?
By day: learn the the Co-Active coaching model, including the four cornerstones and five contexts, levels of listening, and other valuable coaching skills. You will practice coaching, and be coached by experienced, professional coach trainers from the Coaches Training Institute..        By night: the optional residential package allows you to relax, retreat or pursue sports and exercise. Bring your family, there’s plenty to engage them. Or deepen your relationships with your Agile colleagues with fine dining and afterhours conversation.
